
As part of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities' ongoing efforts to enhance community awareness and instill a culture of protecting archaeological and tourist sites, the Ministry held an awareness workshop yesterday, Wednesday, at Mutah University.
The workshop aimed to elevate the level of shared responsibility toward safeguarding the national heritage, ensuring its sustainability, and enhancing the local community’s role within the tourism sector.

The workshop was organized by the Directorate of Investment and Local Community Empowerment at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. It saw wide participation from the Tourism Directorate of Karak Governorate, the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), the Development and Employment Fund (DEF), the Community Police Department, the Jordan Restaurant Association (JRA), the Tourism Police Department, and the Department of Antiquities (DoA).
This workshop is part of a continuous series of awareness initiatives carried out by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in universities and local communities. These initiatives aim to entrench a culture of protecting archaeological and tourist sites among youth and enhance their participation in supporting the tourism sector through educational activities, workshops, field programs to visit sites, and linking students with training and employment opportunities in the tourism sector.
