Jordan Tourism Restaurants Association Elects New Board of Directors

The General Assembly of the Jordan Restaurant Association (JRA) elected a new Board of Directors during its ordinary meeting held today, Wednesday.

The following candidates secured their positions on the new Board of Directors by acclamation (uncontested):

• Representing the 4 and 5-Star Tourism Restaurants category, the Board seats were secured by Mr. Issam Fakhriddin and Mr. Hassan Abu Alfaylat.
• For the Fast Food, Quick Service, Coffee Shops, and Chain Coffee Shops category, the successful nominees were Mr. Raed Bdeir and Mr. Adel Mari.
• In the 1 and 2-Star Tourism Restaurants category, the Board welcomed Ms. Rana Khouri and Mr. Waddah Al-Dawoody.
• Furthermore, Mr. Hassan Madi was elected by acclamation to represent the Other Categories.
• Meanwhile, an electoral process took place for the 3-Star Tourism Restaurants category, where three candidates—Mr. Bassam Kawoush, Mr. Haitham Al-Qsous, and Mr. Marwan Odeh—competed for two available seats. The final results confirmed that Mr. Kawoush and Mr. Al-Qsous successfully won the two contested seats.

Following the announcement of the results, the newly elected Board members reaffirmed their commitment to continuing dedicated efforts to advance the tourism restaurant sector. They pledged to address challenges facing investors and restaurant owners across the Kingdom, and to build effective partnerships with relevant authorities to streamline procedures and enhance the tourism investment environment.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the General Assembly approved the Financial and Administrative Reports for the year 2024, reviewing the key achievements accomplished during the past year. The Assembly also authorized the elected Board of Directors to select a chartered accountant and a legal advisor for the Association.
