In a steadfast commitment to enhancing the capabilities of staff in Jordanian tourism restaurants and promoting safety standards, the Jordan Restaurant Association (JRA) successfully conducted a specialized training course in basic first aid. This initiative was a joint collaboration with the Civil Defense Directorate and forms part of the JRA's ongoing plan to develop the skills of sector employees.
The course was inaugurated by Mrs. Eliana Ja'neini, General Manager of the JRA, who emphasized the importance of such training programs in elevating service quality and enhancing the visitor experience in Jordanian restaurants. Ja'neini stressed that investing in human resource development is the cornerstone for advancing services in tourism restaurants. She noted that the association prioritizes employee development and continuously seeks to launch quality training initiatives that enhance their capabilities and align with the highest international standards.
Over three days, the course covered diverse and valuable training modules specifically designed to address emergency situations that restaurant staff might encounter. These modules included: first aid fundamentals, vital signs, managing airway obstruction, and practical training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The training also focused on deepening skills in handling bleeding, burn injuries, and fractures. On the final day, the course addressed crucial topics such as managing poisoning cases and emergency first aid procedures for environmental incidents like injuries from bites, stings, and animal attacks. Methods for dealing with the risks of electrical shock and domestic gas leaks, as well as potential injuries resulting from various weather factors, were also reviewed.
The Jordanian Restaurants Association extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Civil Defense Directorate for their invaluable efforts and collaborative spirit, which significantly contributed to the success of this important training initiative. The JRA reaffirms its shared commitment to providing a safe and sustainable working environment in its establishments.
This course is part of a series of training activities implemented by the Jordanian Restaurants Association to develop the capabilities of staff in member restaurants and keep pace with the latest developments in the hospitality world. This activity fulfills the objectives of the Human Resources and Training Department within the association, which continuously works to communicate with establishment owners to identify their training and employment needs and design programs that meet these requirements.
